Hakan :: Twin Cities MN Baby Photographer ::
Another one of my “package” babies. This is the little guy who had his newborn pictures on the beach 6 months ago…I really didn’t even recognize him he had changed so much! But my oh my what an adorable child. Everybody was oooohing and ahhhing at him as they walked by us during the shoot. I agree…he is scrumptious with a sweet personality to match!

Phoenix, Arizona
I will be visiting Phoenix in February and I’m offering a limited number of sessions while I am there. Please contact me if you are interested in booking a session.

Evalyn :: St. Paul Baby Photographer ::
I first met sweet little Evalyn when she was modeling for me at a commercial shoot. She was so smiley and happy…and well a HAM! So I was thrilled when her mom asked me to take her 1 year pictures. And Miss Evalyn didn’t disappoint…she did her thing
. Happy Birthday!

Check It Out! :: Twin Cities Photographer ::
I hope everyone had an amazing holiday season with their loved ones! Although the “photography season” here in Minnesota is a long way from being in full swing…I have lots of fun and exciting things planned for 2010. To start things off…a brand new web site! You can check it out here: www.oliveavenuephotography.com.
My new print collections, products and 2010 pricing can now be viewed on the new site under the “investment” tab.
Well, that’s it for now…but there is lots more on the way. In the coming weeks I will be featuring my favorite products here on the blog. I also have a few other things up my sleeve as well…maybe a few giveaways and a little contest?! Stay tuned to find out.
Newborn Promo 2010

Cohen :: Farmington, MN Baby Photographer ::
Each time I see this little guy he gets cuter and cuter! I told his mom I think he has the best hair ever. It probably helps his mommy is a stylist and cuts his hair. Come to think of it, she also cuts mine . And my husband’s. And Phoebe’s. Anyway…back to cutie pants. He just turned one. It happens so fast doesn’t it? Thankfully, mommy has documented his big year of changes with pictures every 3 months
. And she is going to get a beautiful coffee table book of Cohen’s first year. And the best thing is? She doesn’t have to do a thing…I take care of it all for her. Starting in January 2009, my baby session packages will include one of these books…details to come soon on how you can get your hands on one.

Henry :: Apple Valley, MN Baby Photographer ::
Don’t you love his little hat? I’ve been hanging on to it since I snagged it for next to nothing at a season end sale last year. I have to say…my collection of baby hats is getting ridiculous. I keep finding cute things for all my cute babies…many of which I have yet to use. My favorites lately have been newborn hats. I’ve found a fabulously talented lady on Etsy…and I just can’t help myself
. Maybe I need to do a little promotion for newborn sessions so I can try out my new hats…
Henry has some of the bluest eyes I have ever seen! When I was processing these photos…I just couldn’t get over their color. This is probably the last outside baby session for the year…how I am going to make it until spring???

The Faces of Homelessness
I had the honor of spending time at the largest homeless shelter in the Twin Cities this summer. It is an outstanding organization that is making a real difference in our community. I brought my daughter with me and we spent the day there. Phoebe played with the kids in the daycare…we ate lunch in the cafeteria…and I photographed some of the families and children staying there for a billboard/marketing campaign.
My schooling is in social work and so I am not a stranger to this environment. But this time was different. I was seeing it for the first time behind the lens. And I was moved in a new way. Even as I look at these photographs now…I find myself starting into the eyes of these children. Unable to look away. There is such need in this world…and I see it in their eyes. Needs that most of us are unfamiliar with. Not the need for a 20th pair of shoes…or a vacation. Some of us need for what the rest of us take for granted. Food. Shelter. Education. Health care. Safety. Support. Compassion.
See the need…

Ryan & Hannah :: Minneapolis, MN Child Photographer ::
Wow, these kids were amazing to work with! Mom sweetly gave them a bit of space and the kids absolutely shined…despite the fact that it was a bit chilly (but warm for this time in Minnesota). I love the results. The demand for photographing school age kids isn’t as high as with the itty bitty ones…but I love parents who still want their “grown” babies photographed!

Harriet & Gertrude :: Edina, MN Child Photographer ::
Also known as Hattie and Gertie…my sweet nieces. So because this shoot was for family and because my sister in law is just so cool that way…I decided to experiment a bit. I love trying out new things and what better way to do it that with family?! I tend to do more photo sessions in nature…but I have been itching to do something with a little more urban feel. And I LOVE the results. I found a great location in a small area with lots of nitty gritty buildings. I can’t wait to do more of these types of sessions!

Happy Halloween!
